I have my first competition coming up in december and would like to know if african amercans need to spray tan like the other people on stage. I have been watching some of the compeotions and everyone even the african americans seem to glow! so if so what kind should I get?Do African American bodybuilders and figure competitors need to spray tan?
Yes. Although African Americans usually have darker complexions, many African American celebrities, bodybuilders, figure competitors and other athletic performers tan to even their complexion. I prefer Jergen's Natural Glow. They have a lotion and spray tanner that look natural, hence the title. I use Jergens topically in the summer to tan faster. If you are going to take any supplements orally to change your complexion, NEVER EVER use tanning pills. Tanning pills are dangerous. GNC has an amino acid supplement called L-Tyrosine (approx. 1000 mg for $18, 500 mg for $10), which might help you develop melanin faster. Research this and get medical professional advice beforehand. If you decide to use this, you might want to take L-Tyrosine orally in combination with using tanning beds/professional spray tanning and topical sunless tanners, sunblock if using a tanning bed for an even, glowing complexion. Do everything in moderation, as anything done excessively is dangerous and get the advice of your doctor before trying any new routine.Do African American bodybuilders and figure competitors need to spray tan?
